Black History Month – A Celebration

I hope that you have had an opportunity to enjoy some of the Black History Month events and activities ongoing at Muskegon Community College in February.  As you know, MCC celebrates many dimensions of our society, locally, regionally, and internationally.  More on these and other newsworthy events may be found on our website at and on Black History Month by clicking here and below:

Who We Are and How Did We Get Here: A Panel Discussion
Monday, February 22
6 p.m.
Collegiate Hall

The panel will be comprised of appreciated Muskegonites who have made huge contributions to the building of the community and have been long time equal rights activists for Muskegon, especially African Americans.   Also, local pioneers who have made great contributions to our community will be recognized.

Love in Action Awards Dinner
Thursday, February 25
6-9 p.m. (Social Hour 5:30-6 p.m.)
Collegiate Hall

An event celebrating unsung heroes who are nominated by their peers from local businesses, churches and individuals. Nomination applications are available at or by contacting Mary Williams at or by phone at (231) 777-0348. Tickets for the Love in Action Awards Dinner are $27 each or $150 for a table of six.
