Whiskers and Wine

Muskegon Community College faculty and staff are active not only in the classroom, but in the community as well.  You may know know of the great history sessions/excursions presented by professors Troutman and Maniates.  You have seen other faculty (you know who you are) exploring the Caribbean, Germany, New York City, and Belize among other locations. Others assist our business community on a daily basis via tech training, business support, and community engagement to name a few.casey-smith-nesbary-whiskers-pic

On October 7th, I attended “Whiskers and Wine,” a fundraiser supporting the Pay It Forward Veterinary Clinic in Muskegon Heights.  Pay It Forward provides clinical services and vaccination for animals and their owners who would otherwise not be able to afford these services.

Diana Casey, MCC Geography Instructor (pictured to the right middle in the snazzy duds), is a strong supporter of the cause and was an performer, along with her dog Lily, in the Fashion Show. You also may recognize retired Health and Physical Education Instructor Beth Smith to Diana’s right. Professor Casey, you and your colleagues put on a great show for a great cause!  Thanks much for making me aware of this great cause and demonstrating that MCC professors do much more than teach – they lead and motivate their community.
