2013 Ballot Question Approved by Voters

Posted by on 11.06.13 in Uncategorized

First, let me say that this is a very humbling moment for us at Muskegon Community College. Voter approval of the College’s $24 million ballot question constitutes a continued trust by the community in this institution of higher learning and its mission. That belief in us began 87 years ago with our creation as Muskegon’s first college. It’s something we at MCC have never taken lightly. Meeting our community and student needs forms the bedrock of all we do. Now, we will be able to accomplish so much more. The much-needed capital improvements and state-of-the-art instructional facilities will transform our community in ways unimaginable a few years ago.

Second, let me provide special thanks to the Muskegon Community College Board of Trustees. You had the vision to see the future. You understood that our students needed more, that Muskegon deserved the best, and that our faculty and staff required the resources to make these things happen.

Finally, to our entire Muskegon Community College family – past, present and future – thank you for your commitment to our vision. Science, technology, health and the arts are cornerstones to building a stronger community, but it is today’s and tomorrow’s MCC students who will make our collective dream of a vibrant and productive Muskegon County a lasting reality.
